7.30PM - CITY GALLERY, PETERBOROUGH MUSEUM
Thursday 5th February - First Five Plays
Wednesday 11th February - Second Five PLays
A fun, no holds barred evening of new plays written by local playwrights and performed by professional actors inspired by the Metal Billboard questions.
Following an open submission of plays and a series of workshops, local writers have taken up the challenge to create ten new, short (10 minute max), innovative and exciting plays that will be performed for one night only in and around the Hoarding exhibition. Run by Peterborough Playwrights and Lamphouse Theatre Company, and commissioned by Metal, this project supports local talent and big ideas. Come and watch the exciting results, exploring themes as diverse as art, war, migration, animals, politics, and green spaces.
The open submission process carries on until Wednesday 7th January. If you would like to write something and get support from our team, then go to www.lamphousetheatre.co.uk/billboard-playwrights .
The first Five Plays will be presented on Thursday 5th February and the second Five Plays on Wednesday 11th February. Both performances will take place at the City Gallery, and will start at 7.30pm. The duration will be one hour and fifteen minutes and may contain strong language. Tickets are free and can be booked in advance here www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/the-billboard-plays or by emailing ruth@metalculture.com.
